WHO TEXTS THIS NUMBER

The people who use this line are the yard and shop contacts at the companies we buy scrap metal from. Each one gave us their own mobile number, either by telling us in person or on the phone, or by texting us first. When a company gives us somebody's name, we call that person and ask them before we ever text them.

We only ever text a number its owner gave us directly. We never buy, rent, import, or scrape phone numbers, and there is no subscriber list of any kind.

HOW WE ASK FOR A NUMBER, WORD FOR WORD

There is no web form and no checkbox, because there is no sign-up. This is exactly what a Purpose Metals representative says out loud, in person at a yard or on the phone:

"This is Greg with Purpose Metals. Can I get your cell number? Purpose Metals will send you text messages about scrap container pickups at this yard: a confirmation when a container is scheduled, a question if we are unsure which container you mean, and a reminder if we have not heard back. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

If they say no, or we cannot reach them, we do not text them. We use phone and email instead.

WHAT WE SEND

Three kinds of message come from this number, and nothing else. No promotions, no offers, no marketing.

1. Replies to you. When you text that a container is ready, we text back to confirm what we understood: which yard, which container, and when it is going out.

2. Questions when a message is unclear. If we cannot tell which yard or which container you mean, we ask before anything is scheduled.

3. Reminders. If we have asked you something and have not heard back, we may text you again about that same container. This means we sometimes message you first.

FREQUENCY, RATES, AND STOPPING

Message frequency varies. It depends on how often your yard fills a container. There is no schedule and no recurring send.

Message and data rates may apply. Those are between you and your mobile carrier.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.

OPTING OUT AND BACK IN

Reply STOP, CANCEL, QUIT, OPTOUT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, REVOKE or END and we will confirm once and then send you nothing further from that number. If you change your mind, reply START, YES or UNSTOP and we will confirm that you can receive messages again.

Opting out of texts never affects your company's account with us. We will simply go back to phone and email.
