WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY
We hold business contact details for the people we arrange pickups and payments with: name, company, site address, email and phone number. We hold the text messages sent to and from our yard line, any photographs of containers or paperwork you send us, and the weights, materials, tickets and payments that a scrap business is required to keep records of. We use all of it to schedule pickups, price loads, pay you for material, and keep those records.
MOBILE PHONE NUMBERS AND TEXT MESSAGING
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.
Your mobile number is used for one thing: arranging scrap pickups at your yard. It is passed to our telephone carrier only so far as is necessary to deliver a message to your handset, which is how every text message works. It goes nowhere else.
Message frequency varies and depends on how often your yard fills a container. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. How that works is described at purposemetals.com/text, and the exact words we use when asking for a number are at purposemetals.com/sms-consent-script.
WHO ELSE SEES IT
The haulers and processors who collect your material are told the site address and the contact name so a driver can find the yard. Our own bank, bookkeepers, email provider and telephone carrier see only what they need to do their job for us. Nobody else. We run no advertising.
